The Jerry Caravana Cardinal Scholarship was established in 2024 to honor the memory of Jerry Caravana, a longtime educator at Crown Point High School from 1967-2007.
Jerry attended Andrean High School and was a part of the school’s first graduating class in 1963. The road to teaching subsequently took him to Muncie, Indiana, and Ball State University, where he earned his teaching degree and became a lifelong Cardinal fan.
Coming to Crown Point High School in the fall of 1967, Mr. Caravana became a business teacher (and later department head) until 1996, when he took new positions as Assistant Athletic Director and eventual Athletic Director. He was also very active in the Letterman’s Club. His trips to different Chicago sports venues were a great memory for many CP students, past and present. Upon retiring, Jerry continued to serve his school community with two terms on the Crown Point School Board.
The Jerry Caravana Cardinal Scholarship will be awarded annually to a CPHS graduating senior(s) who chooses to attend Ball State University pursuing a bachelor’s degree in any field of study.

The Lauren Mariola Marantette Scholarship was established in 2025 to honor the memory of Lauren Mariola Marantette, a proud 1996 graduate of Crown Point High School and accomplished alumna. Lauren was cherished for her vibrant spirit — perfectly exemplified during her years as a cheerleader — and for her academic dedication, guided by her personal motto: "Bs are good too." After graduating, she attended Saint Mary’s College in South Bend, where she earned a degree in Mass Communications with a concentration in Advertising from Notre Dame. Lauren went on to build a successful career in media advertising, working with major companies like CBS and ABC. Most importantly though, Lauren was a beloved friend, mentor, and role model, leaving an indelible mark — her unforgettable "sparkle" — on everyone she met. The Lauren Mariola Marantette Scholarship will be awarded annually to a graduating senior from Crown Point High School who chooses to attend Saint Mary’s College at Notre Dame or the University of Notre Dame to pursue a bachelor’s degree in any field of study. Lauren’s family will be actively involved in selecting the scholarship recipient, looking for qualities that reflect the unique "sparkle" Lauren brought to the world.
